Wisconsin Assembly District 51 Representative Todd Novak, left, was presented with the Outstanding Water Legislator of the Year Award by Wisconsin Water Alliance president Mike Huebsch.

MADISON — The Wisconsin Water Alliance presented Representative Todd Novak (R-Dodgeville) with the Outstanding Water Legislator of the Year Award for leading efforts to address the pressing water issues facing the state. The award recognizes a commitment to advancing sound water policy that protects the environment while allowing the resource to power our state’s economic engine.

“As Chair of the Speaker’s Task Force on Water Quality, I’ve talked with residents and leaders in every corner of Wisconsin about the water-related issues they’re facing. Working together, we will continue to advance legislation that protects water and those who rely on it,” Novak said.

Representative Novak said he was committed to ensuring a clean and healthy freshwater supply in the state.

“Wisconsin Water Alliance is pleased to present the Outstanding Water Legislator of the Year Award to Representative Todd Novak for his demonstrated commitment to protecting our state’s water resources,” alliance President Mike Huebsch said. “From recreation to industry, water is central to Wisconsin’s success and requires reasonable action that addresses the diverse water-related issues facing our state. Wisconsin Water Alliance will continue to be both environmentally practical and business-minded as it works to advance reasonable water policy that moves our state forward.”

The Wisconsin Water Alliance is a non-partisan, statewide organization whose mission is to protect the state’s water resources and advocate for sound water policies that benefit families, cities, businesses, farmers, and others. Visit WisconsinWaterAlliance.org to learn more.

Publisher’s note: In the Wednesday, Oct. 28, edition of the Monroe Times, the newspaper ran a “Soil Sisters” feature from Kriss Marion, who is a Democratic candidate for the 51st Assembly District seat on Nov. 3. In fairness to Republican incumbent Todd Novak, we asked him what positive column or news piece he would like to run in the Times the week before the election. His campaign suggested this piece from the Wisconsin Water Alliance. This has given each candidate a positive editorial piece in the Monroe Times the week before the election.
