MONROE - The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Green County will hold a kickoff brunch and open house from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in Monroe Clinic's Founders Hall (lower level of the clinic).
A presentation is planned for 9:30 a.m. The program, which is open to the public, will highlight how the community has benefited from funds raised and will review plans for the 2017 Relay For Life event. Guests also will have the opportunity to register a team for the Relay For Life event, which will be held June 24 at the Monroe High School track.
The Relay For Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and take action to finish the fight once and for all. Relay For Life events are community gatherings where teams and individuals camp out at a school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Teams participate in fundraising in the months leading up to the event.
