MONROE - Learn how to help prevent child sexual abuse by registering today for an upcoming Stewards of Children workshop.
The next workshop is set for 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 13, in rooms 2 and 3 at the Green County Justice Center in the UW Extension. The workshop created by Darkness to Light, a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of child sexual abuse, is being hosted by Green County Human Services and facilitated by Kimber Blum, B.S., C.S.W.

The training is open to the public and might be of interest for parents, youth sports organizations, coaches, camp counselors, youth service organizations, teachers and school personnel, and faith centers. The two-hour workshop is designed to educate adults on how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to the reality of child sexual abuse.
The overall goal for Stewards of Children in Green County is to train 1,500 people. Since beginning the training in February 2010, more than 100 citizens in the region have participated.
