MONROE - The June exhibit in the Monroe Arts Center's Frehner Gallery is Reality3 (reality to the third power). This special summer exhibit will feature three artists from the Momentum Art Guild of Northwest Illinois. Star Hauki, Dale Johnson and Sam Tucibat each will bring their personal realities to this multimedia exhibit, which will run from June 18 through Aug. 15. Working in mediums of watercolor, pencil, acrylics and digital photographic compositions, this exhibit reflects a unique collection of work in a variety of subject matters.

Hauki's intricate pencil work is exhibited in her realistic still-life compositions of everyday objects. Dale Johnson's reality explores the subject of man-made objects in his acrylic and watercolor paintings of antique cars, ships and trains. Tucibat takes reality to a new level in his digital photographic compositions, which feature the natural beauty and rustic architecture of rural Illinois altered in a manner that creates an air of mystery with the viewer.

An opening reception for this exhibit is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 18, in the Monroe Arts Center's Frehner Gallery. The artists will be available to discuss their inspiration and techniques. This opening reception, with its refreshment table, is a free, informal, come-as-you-are event. The exhibit will be on display throughout the summer and can be viewed anytime during regular business hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

These exhibits have been made possible by Monroe Arts Center Corporate Underwriter, Swiss Colony and Season Media Underwriters, Big Radio and Monroe Publishing LLC. Additional support was provided by Michael and Shelley Muranyi.
