Reaching the highest degree

MONROE - Four Monroe FFA Chapter members, Alicia Gordee, Tabatha Huber, Sarah McKibben, and Joe Huber, received the American FFA Degree at the 82nd National FFA Convention on Saturday, Oct. 24, in Indianapolis. The American FFA Degree is the highest degree awarded by the National FFA organization.

The four recipients each received a gold American FFA Degree key and a certificate in a blue leatherette frame to commemorate the achievement. The recognition program is sponsored by Case IH, Farm Credit, Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont Company and Syngenta, as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.

The National FFA Foundation is the nation's largest annual youth gathering, welcoming students, parents and educators from all across the United States. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Alicia Gordee, daughter of Kelly and Ron Gordee, attends Highland Community College and plans to transfer to University of Wisconsin-Platteville to become an agriculture teacher.

Tabatha Huber, daughter of Nancy and Robert Huber, attends Ellsworth Community College for equine management.

Sarah McKibben, daughter of Randy and Kimberly McKibben, attends Blackhawk Technical College for nursing and phlebotomy.

Joe Huber, son of Robert and Nancy Huber, attends University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where his major is forestry management.
