MONROE - Green County deputies are seeking clues in a string of recent ATV thefts in the area.

Three ATVs were reported stolen Monday and Tuesday from locations in the Towns of Cadiz, Clarno and Sylvester, according to Deputy Christopher Feiz of the Green County Sheriff's Department.

More ATV thefts in the county were reported earlier in the summer and are still under investigation, including two in June and two in July.

One of the July thefts was a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) worth about $10,000. It was taken from a location on Wisconsin 69 south of Monroe late July 30 or early July 31.

The rest of the stolen ATVs have an estimated value of about $2,500 to $7,000 each.

"A lot of these are newer machines," Feiz said. In most cases, the owner left the vehicle outside, with the key still in the ignition.

The sheriff's department is encouraging anyone with information about the thefts to call Green County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-I-C-CRIME or text "GREENTIP" plus the message to 274637. Tips can also be given to the department directly at 328-9400.

So far, deputies don't have a suspect or suspects in the thefts.

"They're all unsolved," Feiz said.

He advises ATV owners to secure their vehicles.
