Rain hovers over region, dumping buckets of water

MONROE — A slow moving ran system blanketed the region between Sept. 10-12. As of 8 a.m. on Sept. 12, about 3.7 inches of rain officially fell in Monroe, with Brodhead and Albany each topping between 4-5 inches. Further west, less rain fell, with Darlington and Gratiot each receiving less than 2.6 inches, while Cuba City barely had an inch. Alpine Valley Theatre, located between East Troy and Elkhorn in southeastern Wisconsin, totalled 10.78 inches of rain. Flash flood watches and warnings blanketed the region Monday morning. A short dry spell should hit the area before more rain is forecasted to arrive Saturday night into Sunday.
