PTA hosts Assembly candidate forum

BLANCHARDVILLE - How much do you know about the Assembly candidate's stand on property taxes or education? A good way to find out is to attend the Candidate Forum on Monday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Pecatonica High School in Blanchardville.

The event is hosted by the Pecatonica PTA. Because the Pecatonica school district includes two Assembly districts, it has invited candidates from both districts. From the 80th district, Janis Ringhand is the Democratic candidate and Dan Henke is the Republican candidate. From the 51st Assembly district, John Simonson is the Democratic candidate and Howard Marklein is the Republican candidate.

The forum will focus on issues related to school funding, which includes revenue sources such as property taxes, income taxes and sales taxes. There may be time at the end for the audience to submit questions to the candidates. The moderator will choose which questions are selected.
