MONROE - Reproductive Health Care Center, a Southwest Wisconsin Community Action Program, will be expanding its hours at the Green County Health Department in March.
The program has been run on a limited basis since October.
"In light of the Planned Parenthood closing in October, that left a gap in services. So we decided to partner to work with (SWCAP) to make sure individuals in Green County have reproductive health care," Green County Health Officer RoAnn Warden said.
The Reproductive Health Care Center has provided health care services for women and men of all ages in Southwest Wisconsin since 1973, with programs also in Platteville, Dodgeville and Fennimore.
The center had been providing "express" services on Mondays in Green County, but will expand to full service on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays in March. The Green County Health Department is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays
SWCAP has hired and is training a nurse practitioner to help cover the expanded services and hours.
The expanded services at Green County will now include physical exams for men and women.
Other services provided at the Reproductive Health Care Center include:
Exams for women include Pap test, pelvic and breast exam and STD testing.
Screening and treatment for cervical cancer, sexually transmitted infections, and HIV/AIDS.
Assessment of women's reproductive health concerns; primary health care for common minor problems; colposcopy for abnormal paps; menopause counseling.
