NEW GLARUS — The Green County Sheriff’s Office is seeking witnesses or anyone else with information on a one-vehicle crash in New Glarus that occurred early Sunday, Aug. 25.

Deputies and the New Glarus Fire Department were dispatched for a report of the accident a few minutes before 7 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Wisconsin 69, just north of the Culver’s in New Glarus.

Deputies determined the southbound vehicle crossed the centerline and went off the road into the east ditch, then hit a culvert and overturned. It sustained severe damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed.

One of the vehicle occupants was still on scene when deputies arrived. Another was located a short time later, according to Chief Deputy Tom Moczynski.

The occupants are identified as David Saldivar, 19, and Austin T. Lawson, 22, both of Freeport. They reported wearing seatbelts and sustaining minor injuries. Saldivar declined medical treatment. Lawson was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Moczynski had no other details to release on the accident. The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information on the crash to call dispatch at 608-328-9400 or submit a tip anonymously via Green County Crime Stoppers at 800-422-7463.
