MONROE — U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan of Wisconsin’s 2nd congressional district held a virtual town hall Sept. 9 for residents of Green and Lafayette Counties. Due to COVID-19, Pocan and other representatives had been unable to hold town halls in the same format as years prior.
The 1:15 p.m. town hall met only briefly as Pocan answered questions sent using Zoom Teleconference’s question and answer feature.
Much of the approximately 20-minute meeting was spent with Pocan answering questions from virtual attendees, including what masks can provide the most protection.
Pocan suggested that listeners continue to follow suggestions from state and local health departments to curb the spread of COVID-19. He suggested wearing masks with more than one layer of fabric to ensure proper protection.
To ensure focus on each county’s individual needs, Pocan held various town halls Sept. 9, meeting with residents of different counties at each.
Pocan represents the state’s 2nd Congressional District which includes Dane, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland, Rock and Sauk counties.
