DARLINGTON - A Platteville man was cited for his fifth offense of operating while intoxicated after a two-vehicle crash on Wisconsin 81 Friday night sent three people to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County with injuries.

Emergency crews responded to the crash site in the town of Darlington at about 6:40 p.m., according to a Lafayette County Sheriff's Office press release.

According to the release, Tianna R. Kelly, 19, and her passenger, Eric C. Skattum, 20, both of Shullsburg, were stopped in westbound traffic attempting to turn into a residential driveway when they were hit by another vehicle from behind.

Timothy C. Long, 34, who was driving west, hit the rear of Kelly's 2008 Dodge, causing it to overturn. It came to rest on its side in a ditch.

All three people involved in the accident were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles received severe damage and were towed from the scene.

Long also was cited for inattentive driving.
