People You Should Know: Nick Webster

Nick Webster is proving his high school naysayer wrong.

Webster's guidance counselor at Poynette High School told him he would never be a conservation warden. Webster has served in that role for Green County for more than two years.

Before becoming Green County's conservation warden, Webster was a mechanic/auto body painter in Madison.

"I got some bad advice in high school," Webster said. "I realized that car stuff is something I loved, but didn't want to do for a career. I wanted to do it on the side."

Webster went back to school, earning a bachelor's degree in resource management and a minor in law enforcement.

As conservation warden, Webster enforces all laws as they pertain to hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating, ATVs and air, ground and water pollution.
