MONROE - Monroe High School vice principal Nick Schultek moved to Monroe at the end of June from West Allis. Schultek has been a principal and a vice principal and has worked in large and small schools.
Schultek said he enjoys living in Monroe because it's a quiet community.
In some ways, taking a job at a new school is similar to being a new student. Not knowing the students is the hardest part of his new job, he said.
"I sleep better here," he joked.
Like thousands of other people, he attended Cheese Days. He helped cook cheese curds. That was his second time cooking the delightful dish.
"I helped out at the (Green County) Fair last summer," he said.
