BLANCHARDVILLE - The Pecatonica school district has begun searching for a district administrator to work 60 percent time.

The school board decided Feb. 18 to reduce the full-time position to 60 percent as it begins its search for a new administrator. David Westhoff, acting district administrator, has been at Pecatonica since last summer. His one-year contract will expire at the end of June. The district plans to have a new superintendent on the job by then.

Westhoff said the board felt the position is "doable" at 60 percent, "meaning the functions can be performed" in that time frame. By doing so, the board is hoping to reduce cost, by $40,000 to $60,000 per year, he said.

The actual salary range has yet to be determined. An ad for the position posted online says the board will be "offering a two-year contract to the successful candidate with a competitive salary based upon experience and success as well as a negotiable employee benefit package."

Qualifications for the job include a valid Wisconsin district administrator license. Five years experience is preferred, the ad states.
