MONROE - Alliant Energy is planning to close and fence off a small downtown Monroe parking lot from Monday, Sept. 16 through Tuesday, Dec. 31 due to a utility upgrade project.
The 14-space parking area is located at 1120 14th Ave., north of Minhas Brewery and east of Alliant's Monroe central substation.
Alliant Energy posted several signs throughout the parking lot to provide users of the lot with adequate notice of its closure. The parking lot is owned by Alliant Energy and is leased to the city for public use.
