MONROE - The Main Street Monroe annual Halloween Parade and Trunk or Treat event is scheduled for 3 to 8 p.m. October 31.

The parade will begin and end in the 1200 block of 16th Avenue, following a pre-approved route in the downtown, according to Police Chief Fred Kelley.

The Trunk or Treat event will take place on the inside lanes of the downtown Square following the parade. The inside lanes of the Square will be closed from 4 to 8 p.m.

The rain location for Trunk or Treat will be the downtown municipal parking ramp, where participants can enter at the door on the south entrance to the lower level.

The City of Monroe will authorize Trick or Treat hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on October 31, 2014. The Common Council approved the Halloween events at its meeting on Tuesday.
