Owner of tavern wanted for writing worthless check

GRATIOT - The owner of a Gratiot tavern is wanted in connection with a misdemeanor charge of writing a worthless check.

Dennis C. Schulze, Sr., 54, owner of Unc's Nixon House, LLC, was charged Aug. 20 with a Class A misdemeanor charge of writing a worthless check in the amount of $871.23, from an account under his name and the tavern's name, to Four Seasons Resort, 18272 N. Lake Road, Blanchardville.

A warrant for his arrest was issued Sept. 24, with a $400 bond. A Class A misdemeanor charge carries a maximum punishment of up to nine months in jail and a fine of up to $10,000.
