MONROE - A Hazel Green man was killed Sunday when his vehicle crossed the center line and hit another vehicle, according to Green County Sheriff Lt. Richard Wyttenbach.
James R. Kilcoyne, 74, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Green County coroner's office. The accident took place around 4:15 p.m. on Wisconsin 11, one-half mile east of Ullom Road in Cadiz township.
According to Wyttenbach, the 2004 Buick LeSabre driven by Kilcoyne was traveling westbound when it crossed into the path of a 2002 Chevrolet truck driven by Arthur Anderson, 59, Monroe. The vehicles collided and both received extensive damage.
Anderson and a passenger in Kilcoyne's vehicle, Mary Kilcoyne, were taken to Monroe Clinic for non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies, along with the Browntown and Monroe fire departments, Green County Emergency Medical Services and the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene.
This is Green County's first traffic fatality in 2008.
