Olson keynote speaker at Chamber dinner

MONROE - Gary Olson, president of Minhas Brewery, will be the keynote speaker for the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and Industry's annual social and dinner Thursday, Feb. 5, at Turner Hall. Olson will share Minhas' success and its vision for the future.

The social will begin with a cash bar at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. at Turner Hall. The dinner is $35 for Chamber members and $45 for non-members. The Swiss Colony has donated gifts for attendees.

"The Chamber continues to improve its reach and effectiveness for members and the entire Monroe business community," said outgoing 2008 Chamber president Bryan Rach. "Special thanks to our shooting star, Patty James, who served us well in her brief tenure as executive director. We are especially excited to welcome Pam Christopher to the position and to the community."

Rach said Christopher "has the expertise and passion required to help lead Monroe's business community."

The 2008 Chamber Board of Directors will be recognized. They are: Bryan Rach, Dearth Automotive, 2008 president of the Board of Directors; Steve Jacobson, Precision Drive and Control, past president of the Board of Directors; Jane Monahan, Swiss Colony, 2008 vice president; Tom Purdy, Fehr-Graham and Associates, treasurer; Barb Gelbach, das Baumhaus; Dave Gombosi, Radio Shack/U.S. Cellular; Judy Hale, St. John's UCC; Kurt Koller, Badger State Ethanol; Angie Parr, Monroe Clinic; and Jane Thoman, Super 8/AmericInn.
