The oldest portion of Black Hawk schools in South Wayne, a 3-story structure, was built in 1921. As part of the renovation project passed in the 2022 referendum, this outdated and worn down portion of the school is being torn down. On Tuesday, June 18, crews were putting some of the finishing touches on preparing for the final demolition. The new addition to the school should be operational by the time students and staff return for instruction in two months.
