MONROE - The Future Forward Board voted unanimously Feb. 11 to become a committee of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce. The new partnership will allow the two groups to continue to work together on initiatives to help Green County attract and retain the next generation, members said.
"The Monroe Chamber and Future Forward have worked together collaboratively for years and this new partnership will strengthen our efforts to develop and retain the workforce of the future," said Nikki Matley, the chair of Future Forward Green County.
The Future Forward initiative kicked off in 2007 and since then, a number of projects have been completed partnering with the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, including annual corporate on-boarding events for area employers, the development of an online job bank, publication of local event calendars and an executive welcome event. The group has actively reached out to alumni of Green County high schools via email and social media.
