DARLINGTON - A Nekoosa man was charged last week with sexual assault of a child after he reportedly had sex with an underage girl in Lafayette County in 2015.
Hunter Goebel, 20, was charged Thursday with two Class C felony counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child and one Class D felony count of child enticement based on an incident that took place Oct. 24, 2015.
According to the case's criminal complaint, Goebel was visiting the residence of an underage teenage girl on the day of the offense. After the girl's parents went to bed, Goebel reportedly began to kiss the girl and put his hand down her pants.
The girl removed Goebel's hand. Shortly thereafter, the two moved to a more secluded room in the house to have sex.
According to the complaint, the girl brought Goebel a condom at his request and told him to tell her what to do.
Goebel was 19 years old at the time of the incident.
Goebel also faces similar charges in a separate case in Dane County from earlier this year. In that case, he faces three counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child, one count of child enticement and a Class H felony count of causing a child to view sexual activity.
Goebel's preliminary hearing on the Lafayette County case will take place Tuesday. His maximum possible sentence on those charges is 65 years in prison.
