National Historic Cheesemaking Center: Washington Town Hall

Pictured in the Swiss cheese cellar of Washington Town Hall, is Roger Zee, right, and Sam Bahler, left. The factory was located at the intersection of County N and C. A cheese factory has occupied this location since 1873. The current factory was built in 1916. Bruce Workman, a Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker, currently makes 180-pound wheels of Swiss Emmenthaler cheese in addition to Havarti, Butterkase, Muenster, Gouda and Lacy Swiss at this location.
