The Everson Cheese Factory was located 2.5 miles southeast of Brodhead in Rock County. Fire is said to have destroyed the factory in 1939. Pictured outside the milk intake area are Gottfried, Matilda and Anna Lorina Wittwer. Another daughter, Louise, married Jacob Regez, one of Green County's "Cheese Pioneers" in 1875. Gottfried Wittwer was also a cheesemaker at the Clarno Cheese Factory No. 2. The National Historic Cheesemaking Center archival database is expanded through the generous contributions of information and welcomes any further information for the Everson Cheese Factory and/or the Wittwer family.
