BRODHEAD - Brodhead Memorial Public Library, 1207 25th St., will present the "My Journey to Islam: From Brodhead to Islam and Beyond" program by Matthew Braun at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7.
Braun, a native of Brodhead, learned about Islam while attending Beloit College and began practicing Islam while attending graduate school. For the past 10 years, Braun has been studying the Arabic language and Islamic subjects overseas.
Braun is a board member of the Canadian-based nonprofit organization P4E Support Group inc., which provides humanitarian services in general and inspires, supports and educates Muslims specifically to be productive members of their communities while opposing extreme, radical beliefs and practices.
