MONTICELLO - The victim in a fatal motorcycle Tuesday morning near Monticello has been identified as Alvin J. Thomas, 54, of Mount Horeb.
Thomas sustained massive trauma as the result of an accident with a semi-tanker driven by Randall A. Sager, 56, of Rock City, Illinois. Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene. Sager was treated for injuries at a local hospital, according to a news release from the Green County Sheriff's Department.
Initial reports indicate Thomas drifted across the centerline while rounding a curve and entered the oncoming semi's path. There is no indication of impaired operation or excessive speed, the release said. The accident remains under investigation.
