MONROE - Madison-based nonprofit REACH-A-Child made a second delivery of REACH Bags to first responders in Monroe last week.
There are now 22 REACH Bags in police, fire and EMS vehicles.
Each REACH Bag contains an initial supply of 10 children's books and 10 drawstring backpacks.
All of the resources were funded by a donation from Colony Brands and President and CEO John Baumann.
The REACH Bags will be used during crisis situations to comfort children reacting to trauma.
REACH-A-Child donated an additional 500 books to first responders to give to children in non-crisis situations. Police chief Fred Kelley, fire chief Dan Smits and EMS chief Dan Nufer recommended the additional books to build a strong relationship between their departments and the children of the community.
