Monticello Public School fifth and sixth grades, 1911. Edyth R. Blum-Stoll, the teacher, was 24 years old. Maud Legler, the mother of Lois Hammerly-Iverson and Ralph Hammerly, is the third girl from the left in the second row. The girls are clean and well dressed for the photo, but the boys are less so. Monticello's Main Street museum is now open for the season each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is the last season to see the "From Slate Boards to White Boards" school display.
