The City of Monroe Visitor and Promotion Board met Wednesday with a budget of about $32,000, with $13,000 outstanding in pre-approved funding. The board:
• Authorized payment of $7,500 for pre-approved funding for Cheese Days.
• Tabled, pending submission of invoices, a request for $500 from the Monroe Arts Center Swing Dance Weekend.
• Postponed, pending more information, a request for $655 from the Badger Lapidary and Geological Society Gem Show.
• Authorized payment of $277.49 to the Monroe Lions Club for Berghoff and Blues Festival.
• Authorized payment of pre-approved funding in the amount of $648 for a full page ad in Vacationland Magazine, requested by the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
• Postponed a discussion of a past discrepancy in fund balances until February, after audit of the 2007 city budget.
