MONROE - In a meeting Thursday, the City of Monroe Senior Center Board:
Voted unanimously not to increase Wellness Center fees for 2009. The board will review fees in June. A discussion to increase fees centered on the need for the Behring Senior Center to pay for the health care benefits for the Wellness Specialist. As a city employee, the specialist is allowed to take the city health care plan benefits. That amounts to about $17,000 for the Wellness Center Specialist.
Reviewed and approved the 2009 Senior Center budget.
Was updated on the city council approval of hiring Bridget McGinty as the new Wellness Center specialist, beginning Dec. 1 at an six-month probationary hourly rate of $14.72. The rate will be $15.22 after the probation period.
