MONROE - Monroe tourism is set to be featured in the Wisconsin Public Television show, "Around the Corner With John McGivern."

A premiere screening of the episode "Monroe," shot over the summer, will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Monroe Arts Center.

Following the 30-minute screening, McGivern will share anecdotes from his travels in Monroe and other communities throughout Wisconsin.

Cathy Mauer, Monroe Chamber of Commerce director of communications, said the short video will feature Mayor Bill Ross and Dotty the Clown.

"It's kind of a unique thing with all sorts of different people from Monroe," Mauer said.

The crew, including John McGivern, will host the screening and have a meet-and-greet following the film. The MAC has seating available for up to 150 people, and those wishing to go are encouraged to call the chamber.

No registration is required for the free screening.

Now in its fourth season, "Around the Corner With John McGivern" explores living, working and playing in Wisconsin's communities. The show airs at 7 p.m. Thursdays, through April 16 on Wisconsin Public Television.

Watch the statewide broadcast premiere of "Monroe" at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 on Wisconsin Public Television.

WPT is a service of the Educational Communications Board and University of Wisconsin-Extension.

For more information about the free screening, contact the chamber at 608-325-7648.
