MONROE - At a meeting Oct. 12, the Monroe school board:

• Accepted the resignations of support staff members Cheryl McGuire, Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy secretary, and Lori Seffrood, special education driver.

• Approved the Public Library Tax Exemption Resolution. The Monroe school district runs the Monroe Public Library as part of the district and thus levies a library tax, but the Green County Board also levies a county library tax. The school board passes the resolution every year to prevent residents within the school district from being taxed twice for the library, once by each entity, according to Business Administrator Ron Olson.

• Approved a three-year contract with Jeff Voegeli Landscaping for snow removal.

• Gave initial approval of 24 minor policy changes, including revisions, deletions and reviews.

• Welcomed new staff members.

Board members Jim Plourde and Scott Schmidt were absent.

MONROE - At a meeting Sept. 29, the Monroe school board met in closed session to conduct an expulsion hearing. Board members Michael Boehme and Brian Keith were absent.
