MONROE - At a meeting Monday, the Monroe school board:
• Recognized the September winner of the Monroe Lamp of Learning Staff Excellence Award: Dan Saunders, Monroe High School technology and engineering teacher.
• Accepted a donation of about $1,434 from Faith Engineering to be used for Project Lead the Way.
• Accepted Berbee Derby Funds of $8,050 from the Technology Education Foundation to be used to purchase 30 Chromebooks and licenses for Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy.
• Approved the requests of three students to enroll in the district and one student to leave the district.
• Appointed Sarah Wilke to the Public Library Board of Trustees.
Board member Scott Schmidt was absent.
