MONROE - At a meeting Monday, the Monroe school board:
Looked at results from the first couple months of Instructional Priorities, where administrators observe teachers and rate them for when they meet the "Fab Four" goals. The teachers were rated on a four-point scale. District Administrator Cory Hirsbrunner said the district exceeded its goal of 60 percent of teachers getting a score of three or four, though that amount decreased slightly in some areas from September to October. She said they expect to "see some ups and downs" throughout the year.
Heard an update on the U.S. Cellular Sports promotion. Monroe High School Principal Chris Medenwaldt said the district missed out on taking part in the promotion for the football season, because U.S. Cellular was fully booked for Monroe's game dates. Medenwaldt said they will try to sign up for the promotion for next year's football season.
Approved the retirements of Cindy Zimmerman, Monroe Middle School aide, and David Buol, MHS custodian.
Accepted a donation of $639 for the MHS Art Club from the Class of 1964.
Approved the requests of two students to attend other districts.
Amy Bazley and Bob Erb were absent.
MONROE - At a meeting Monday, the Monroe school board's Finance Committee:
Heard that the cars the district posted to a Wisconsin auction website have all been sold and paid for. Business Manager Ron Olson said selling the cars made the district $28,000 this year, along with "significant insurance savings," thanks to removing them from the district's insurance.
