Heard an update Superintendent Cory Hirsbrunner on funding for the new elevator. Hirsbrunner said the library board agreed to give the district $80,000 towards the new elevator that was installed during the summer. The library will give the district $40,000 up front and then $10,000 a year for the next four years, Hirsbrunner said.
Honored Monroe High School with an Advanced Placement Honor Roll award from the College Board. Monroe is one of 477 high schools across the country and Canada to receive the AP honor roll award. The award is given to schools that show an increase in students taking AP exams and who earn at least a 3, or meets expectations on the test. The exams are scored 1-5 with a 4 meaning exceeds expectations and a 5 being a perfect score.
Honored Alex Schutz, a Parkside Elementary School third-grade teacher with the Lamp of Learning Staff Excellence Award for November.
Honored the Monroe boys cross country team for the state runner-up finish at the WIAA Division 2 state meet.
Approved the resignation of Jackie Guy, a math teacher at Monroe High School.
Approved a $1,400 donation from the Monroe Optimist Club.
