The Monroe School Board, at its meeting Monday:
- Approved Monroe Middle School's plan to purchase 28 computer mobile labs from Computer Know How Lenovo for the school's mobile lab for $19,305. The middle school student council will pay $18,500 of the cost and the rest will be covered by the district's technology budget.
- Charlie Baumann, chair of Monroe Excellence in Education, awarded several grants. Judy Bennett received a $300 grant for "Pro Tools 9" Software" at Monroe High School. Nadine Whiteman, Monroe Middle School, received $3,290 for "Microscopy & Measurement". Amy Timmerman at Northside School received $500 for "PBIS". Mary Friedrichs and Megan Wand at Parkside School received $1,500 for "ELL Literacy Backpacks".
- Hired Ellie Radke as a special education teacher at Monroe High School.
- Approved a one year leave of absence for Holly Steger, who is an English teacher at the middle school.
