On Monday, Jan. 25, the Monroe school board:
• Accepted the retirement of Sandy Martin, director of business services, for the district. Martin worked as a district employee for 31 years; her retirement is effective at the end of the 2010 calendar year.
• Canceled the first meeting of February, which was scheduled for Feb. 8. The board tentatively plans to cancel its Feb. 22 meeting as well, and meet just once during the month, Feb. 15.
