MONROE - Students across Green County will get a chance to see a cyber bullying presentation after the Jacob's SWAG Foundation and Tyler's Team Foundation donated $3,800 to the Monroe School District Monday, Feb. 10.

The Jacob's SWAG Foundation represented by Kurt and Teri Ellefson and Tyler's Team Foundation represented by John and Kathy Pierce each donated $1,900 and the Monroe Noon Optimists donated $200 to bring in Dr. Justin Patchin of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire who will give a cyber bullying presentation March 17 and March 18 in Monroe.

The Ellefsons and Pierces have teamed up with the district to coordinate the cyber bullying presentation that will be for middle and high school students in Monroe, Argyle, Black Hawk, Brodhead and Juda. The Monroe school board approved the donations Monday.

Kurt Ellefson said the support from the community has been strong.

"It shows that they just don't just care about me as a teacher and football coach, but they care about my family," Ellefson said.

The Ellefsons and Pierces are funding the presentation and they let the district select the speaker. Last year they brought in former Indianapolis Colts player Shawn Harper to discuss bullying, alcohol and drugs.

"The goal is to help the area youth and schools," Ellefson said. "The best way to meet the most students is through the schools."
