The School District of Monroe's Board of Education, at its monthly meeting Monday, June 10:
Accepted the resignations of Anne Guenther, an aide at Northside Elementary, and Simon Larson, a special education teacher at Monroe High School. Larson will be working at Landmark Services Cooperative.
Hired the following people to fill positions at Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy: Brenda Seagraves as classroom teacher, Megan Hoinacki as music teacher and Kristine Rufer as an early childhood special ed teacher. The board also hired Tami Schoaf as a special ed teacher at Northside Elementary.
Accepted a $500 donation from the Optimist Club of Monroe to be used to offset the cost of the sixth grade end-of-year field trip.
Accepted a $500 donation from Joey and Randy Schneeberger to be used for band camp scholarships.
Denied an open enrollment exception request for a 16-year-old Milwaukee girl. The administration recommended the denial because "we do not feel this transfer is in the best interest of the student."
Approved the 2013-2014 contract with the Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) in the amount of $3,911, to include driver education programming and instructional technology services, as recommended by the administration.
