MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Public Safety Committee:

• Recommended to City Council to approve a special event permit for the Main Street Halloween Parade and Concert, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31. The Halloween parade will follow the standard route. Monroe Main Street Director Barb Nelson said that as a courtesy to the Monroe Arts Center, a street concert will be on the courthouse lawn following the parade. No street blocking will be put up for the music feature. The hours of Trick-or-Treat will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

• Recommended to council to approve an agreement between Green County EMS, Inc., and the Monroe Fire Department for mutual assistance calls.
