MONROE - During a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Public Safety Committee:
• Discussed plans and accepted a quote for $18,900 to install an additional storm siren on the north side of the city near 18th Avenue and Fourth Street. The siren will rotate and extend sound 2,000 feet. The quote includes all materials and installation. The siren is part of a three-year plan, now in its second year.
• Discussed the City of Monroe Police Department's 2008 Annual Report.
