MONROE — A Monroe man was arrested for his fourth drunken driving offense over the weekend after he drove off from a traffic stop, crashed his vehicle and then continued driving, according to the Green County Sheriff’s Office.

Matthew T. Daly, 29, was jailed pending court on charges of fleeing an officer and fourth-offense operating while intoxicated with a passenger younger than 16, both felonies. He was also taken into custody on a probation hold.

Deputies stopped Daly for speeding in the N1900 block of Wisconsin 69, Town of Clarno, at about 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.

Daly fled the scene in his vehicle during the traffic stop, deputies reported. He was apprehended in the W6800 block of Smock Valley Road after leading deputies on a pursuit. During the pursuit, his vehicle went off the road and crashed in the N2600 block of Ullom Road.

Daly was cited for failure to install an ignition interlock device, driving with a revoked license and speeding. His vehicle was towed. The Monroe Police Department assisted at the scene and investigated the crash portion of the incident.
