MONROE - A Monroe man was charged Wednesday with three counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child after victims reported multiple incidents from 2007 and 2008.

Micki Fredrick Nafzger, 22, faces three Class B felony counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child without great bodily harm. Each count arises from an assault of a different child.

The first two incidents occurred in 2007 in the town of Brooklyn. According to the children's testimony, Nafzger entered a bedroom where they were sleeping and locked the door. They said Nafzger asked them if they wanted to play a game before he removed his clothes and those of the children. He then said he was going to do something that would be "fun" and that they should not be frightened.

The children said Nafzger raped both of them before leaving the room.

A year later, the children heard from a third child who said Nafzger had also engaged in sexual acts with her. This incident was in 2008 in the Town of Sylvester. The girls said Nafzger claimed he had performed similar acts with other girls "all the time."

Nafzger was 13 years old at the time of the first assault. All three girls were pre-teens at the time of the assaults.

Nafzger was charged after one of the victims alluded to the assault while discussing an unrelated case with police in February of 2015. All three victims testified to police thereafter.

Nafzger's initial court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 17. The maximum possible sentence for his charges is 120 years in prison.
