The program features a dramatization that includes students, physicians, nurses and other emergency and law enforcement personnel.
MONROE - Monroe Clinic is sponsoring a Preventing Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth (P.A.R.T.Y.) program at 12:45 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Monroe High School Performing Arts Center. Students from area high schools will learn about the consequences of poor decision-making - while being empowered to make informed, safe choices.

The 90-minute program includes a dramatization featuring students, Monroe Clinic physicians and nurses, Green County emergency medical services, Monroe police officers, the Green County sheriff, firefighters from several local communities and the Green County coroner. An excerpt from a Green County judge and the personal stories of individuals directly affected by their own choices or the choices of others related to alcohol and driving while under the influence also will be shared.

The P.A.R.T.Y. program was developed in 1986 in at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, to educate teens of the perils of risk-taking behavior and the tragic consequences that can occur because of drinking and driving, not using seat belts and other dangerous behaviors.
