Monroe Farmers Market kicks off Saturday

MONROE - Fresh produce and locally-made crafts will be among the offerings as the Monroe Farmers Market kicks off its summer season Saturday.

Starting this week, the Farmers Market on Monroe's Square will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday. The market is also held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Some of the items available include fresh, home-canned and dried produce; handmade and one-of-a-kind crafts; jellies, pickles and preserves; baked goods; and locally-produced meats, honey, maple syrup and eggs. Master Grilled cheese sandwiches will also be for sale.

Throughout the season, there will be entertainment, demonstrations and activities for children.
