MONROE - On Tuesday, the Monroe Common Council:
• Approved a special event request from Main Street Monroe for the second annual Muggles Day Out along the downtown Square on Oct. 1 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. with street closures on the inner west and south sides of the Square.
• Granted a temporary Class B fermented malt beverage license to the Monroe Lions Club in conjunction with the Fall Nationals Tractor Pull at the Green County Fairgrounds from Sept. 24-25.
• Approved a special event request for the Green County Fall Nationals tractor pull, including a closed road within the 1200 block of 29th Avenue from 8 a.m. on Sept. 24 to 1 a.m. on Sept. 25.
• Accepted an agreement with Vandewalle and Associates Inc. for zoning code re-write services to update zoning code within the city in conjunction with the recently approved Monroe Comprehensive Plan.
• Approved a special event request from the Green County Conservation League for Fall Youth Conservation Day at Honey Creek Park on Oct. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
