MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Common Council:
- Voted unanimously to approve a title change to Recreation Director for Marge Klinzing.
n Approved $238,000 to pay bills.
- Approved the installation of stop signs at 16th Avenue and 23rd Street.
- Approved limited time, no parking areas in 1400 and 1500 block of 21st Avenue and 800 block of 13th Ave.
- Granted miscellaneous licenses.
- Voted unanimously to re-approve a contract for lighting upgrade and re-authorized the purchase of project materials. A previous contract was approved Nov. 7. The newer version separates the installation work and the materials purchase between the A-1 Electric and PDC.
- Voted unanimously to levying a special assessment for Business Improvement District.
- Voted unanimously to adopt Monroe Business Improvement District operating plan for 2013.

MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Visitor and Promotion Board:
- Reviewed the financial statement. The board expects to see about $4,400 less from its hotel and motel tax this year, from $68,100 last year to $63,700 this year, indicating a drop in overnight stays in the city. The board has pre-approved up to $66,800 in requests. Some of these will not come due until next year.
- Pre-approved funding requests from Green County Tourism for $2,000 for community marketing; Main Street Monroe for $25,000 for marketing projects; and Green County Model Railroaders for $1,420 for 2012 Train Show and Swap Meet.
- Reviewed an appeal from Alpine Curling Club and accept audited bills from December 2011 event for payment.
- Authorize payment to Monroe Chamber for $11, 370 for website, media relations and marketing development, etc.
- Heard from Jerry Guth about the ATV trail.
