Monroe Common Council: May 22, 2013

MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Common Council:

• Voted unanimously to approve $540,400 to pay bills.

• Approved the Colony Brands, Inc. Monroe Badger Days on June 17, and the UW Alumni Club of Green County Red Run Charity Run on June 17.

• Granted miscellaneous licenses.

• Accepted a $10,000 bequest from the Frances M. Rufi estate to be used for the Behring Senior Center.

Alderman Reid Stangel recognized the efforts of several members of the council, the city staff and the Green Bay Packers for installing the Lincoln Park playground equipment. The Packers donated the equipment.

Brooke Bauman and Mayor Bill Ross were absent. Council President Michael Boyce presided.



MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Public Property Committee:

• Heard a report on the use of the former Green County Humane Society building for Street Department storage.

MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Judiciary and Ordinance Review Committee:

• Voted to revise the process for creating meeting agendas to an electronic format.

MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Board of Public Works:

• Approved bills from Fehr-Graham and Associates for $3,630, for the storage tank testing and reporting at 718 8th St. and from Advanced Disposal for $2,210 for April recycling.

• Reviewed quote and authorized the purchase of a replacement asphalt mill for $10,000, with a trade-in and government discount.
