MONROE - On Tuesday, the Monroe Common Council:
Renewed a 10-year lease between the city and the Green County Historical Society for the use of the former First Unitarian Universalist Church for an annual rental fee of $1 to be used as a museum.
Granted a Class B malted beverage and Class C wine license to Black Walnut Kitchen LLC, set to officially open on the east side of the downtown Square Jan. 30.
Heard an announcement from Assistant City Administrator Sam Liebert advising each member to review a packet regarding the creation of a Community Development Authority, which will be discussed at the Feb. 6 council meeting.
Highlighted the presentation of a pink and white snowman diaper cake made by Administrative Secretary Arianna Voegeli and given to Alderman Rob Schilt, who planned to bring a new baby daughter home from the hospital Wednesday.
