MONROE - On Tuesday, the Monroe Common Council:



• Renewed a 10-year lease between the city and the Green County Historical Society for the use of the former First Unitarian Universalist Church for an annual rental fee of $1 to be used as a museum.

• Granted a Class B malted beverage and Class C wine license to Black Walnut Kitchen LLC, set to officially open on the east side of the downtown Square Jan. 30.

• Heard an announcement from Assistant City Administrator Sam Liebert advising each member to review a packet regarding the creation of a Community Development Authority, which will be discussed at the Feb. 6 council meeting.

• Highlighted the presentation of a pink and white snowman diaper cake made by Administrative Secretary Arianna Voegeli and given to Alderman Rob Schilt, who planned to bring a new baby daughter home from the hospital Wednesday.
